Together with the whole nation, the first automated national election is underway in the province of Cavite. There are no reported Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS)-related problems in the early hours of voting but the precinct clustering system caused a slow pace in the voting process.
Foreign observers who are part of a team from the Peoples’ International Observers’ Mission witnessed firsthand a two-hour gunfight that erupted in Tugaya, Lanao del Sur and killed one young woman and wounded two others.
An hour before voting ends, less than half of the registered voters have cast their votes in the two precincts visited by the People’s International Observers’ Mission (PIOM) team in Malibcong, Abra.
