Change group Pagbabago! People’s Movement for Change today slammed government authorities for the apparent double standard in dealing with detainees as it noted how Maguindanao massacre primary suspect Andal Ampatuan Jr. was able to hold a press conference inside his detention facility while military officials have twice refused to produce the Morong 43 before the Commission on Human Rights (CHR).

The Pagbabago! People's Movement for Change supports the move of the Public Interest Law Center (PILC) to block the interim appointment of Lt. Gen. Delfin Bangit as Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff.

Walk for change, walk for justice!

Students, teachers, doctors, health workers, government employees and church people will stage this collective walk in Manila on December 4 at 4pm to call for meaningful changes in society beyond the 2010 elections and to join the nation in condemning in strongest terms the Maguindanao Massacre.

Group calls for increased vigilance as Comelec hastily signs automation contract

A reform group calls on the public for increased vigilance today as the Comelec signs the poll automation contract despite the controversy surrounding the bidding process, the lack of transparency and the hasty implementation of the project.

Pagbabago! People's Movement for Change, a group of reform-minded individuals, said that the Comelec should require the winning bidder, Smartmatic-TIM consortium, to publicly disclose the reason for their recent disagreement that almost derailed the Comelec’s automation project, as well as the newest terms of their joint-venture.
